Combine glutinous rice and short-grain rice. Wash and rinse 1 min until water is nearly clear. Drain.

Grind black sesame and mix with 30 ml sugar.
Mix kinako with 30 ml sugar.
Prepare red bean paste (anko) as coating.
Shaping and assembly
Let cooked rice rest (steam if not automatic). Mash until sticky and let cool slightly.
Wet hands with salted water and shape rice into oval balls.
Coat rice balls with sesame, kinako, or anko, and serve.
